Cycle

The first day or normal bleeding is recognized as the beginning of the cycle. Spotting (single brown secretion drops, not bloody) is included in the previous one. The cycle begins on the first day of normal bleeding (not spotting) and ends in the day before the next bleeding eg 28, 30, 33.

Luteal phase

The luteal phase is a fase of higher temperatures associated with increasing levels of progesterone. The first day of luteal phase is the day when progesterone increasing. Luteal phase starts day after ovulation and should stay from 12 to 16 days. Other sources give a value of 10 days as minimum length.

Beginning of Post Ovulatory Infertility

This is the day on which the conception of a child is not possible. That period/time is characterized by a relatively consistant length, how to determine that time depends on the chosen NFP method and your experience.
What to start from and how to do the chart analysis on your own?

Cervix peak day

The day of cervical peak is the last day on which cervix was located in the highest position, the most open and soft.
We consider that day retrospectively, ie after observations in the day trends to close, hardening and reduction of cervix position the cervix peak we set preceding day.

Mucus peak day

We consider that day retrospectively, ie the next day when we observe dispapperance fertile mucus, we determine the preceding day as mucus peak. Depending on chosen NFP method the cervix peak + 3 days ends fertile phase.
The day of mucus peak is the last day in which mucus had one of characteristics higher fertility (transparency, elasticity, slippery, humidity).

Temperature shift

Temperature increase (temperature shift) - starts phase of higher temperatures which is continued untill the next period (10-16 days).
We can recognize it when three consecutive undisturbed temperatures are higher than the preceding six measurements. The third measurement should be higer at leat 0.2 C degree of the highest teperature from that six misurements before shift.

I have been looking at your chart more and maybe you ovulated on CD 12. That is the only place where I think you had enough change to be fertile. So you would have gotten pregnant from the BD on CD 10. I’d be interested to see what a dating ultrasound says about how far along you are.
Learning NFP PP is one of the most difficult things to do, IMO. I think what makes it harder is that you don’t have the information to rely on from before you got pregnant. Maybe you should look into the Marquett method that uses the fertility monitor for next time since it measures the hormones in your system and gives you a peak day. You can continue to chart too, but you will be able to cover all your bases that way. Then you could see what changes that you observe would be fertile easier. My sister uses the monitor and loves it.

Sorry about the morning sickness, I hope that you get to feeling better. That’s great that DH is happy. Most of the time it’s the other way around. I’d love to be pregnant right now, DD is just getting bigger every day and it kinda makes me sad. Would really like to see my temps stay up tomorrow. If they go down I know AF will be here in 2 days. Oh well, it’s all good. God is ultimately in control. At least we will officially have our house on the market this Thursday and be one step closer to moving into town and a bigger place.

I did look at CD 10 – CD 14 and the temps did not correlate — though it seems like the most likely ov period
I did Billings before i learnt STM so i feel like am running out of options

Btw am in africa — i did consider buying the monitor but there is no place for me to get the strips monthly so it just didnt seem like a good idea ( also there are no instructors here )

Anyway really dont know ---

I do know that you can buy both the monitor and the strips on ebay, not sure how much they cost though. I don’t know if there are official instructors for the monitor actually. I think all of the information is through the website. I know that they have a good breastfeeding protocol too.

It is wonderful news about the house, we would be really blessed to get a contract on it soon. We have already sorta picked out a house in town, but we need to have ours looked at some before we can move on it. I just hope and pray it does not sell before we get that chance.
